Today I am doing something that I should have done a long time ago, and that is jump on the #SixForSunday train that was started by my lovely pal Steph, you can check out her prompt post if you would like to start doing these tags yourself! Monday 21 May 2018

Is that title misleading? I'm not actually talking about personal details, though that could be a fun post, we're going through all my Pottermore sortings because I recently remembered that was a thing thanks to the fabulous Hogwarts Mystery that I've been absolutely obsessed with the last week or so.

If you're not familiar with Pottermore, there's the Hogwarts sorting, your patronus, your wand and then most recently they've added your Illvemory house. So lets check out my results!

A Thousand Perfect Notes Review

Monday 23 April 2018

Rating: 5/5

Beck hates his life. He hates his violent mother. He hates his home. Most of all, he hates the piano that his mother forces him to play hour after hour, day after day. He will never play as she did before illness ended her career and left her bitter and broken. But Beck is too scared to stand up to his mother, and tell her his true passion, which is composing his own music - because the least suggestion of rebellion on his part ends in violence.

When Beck meets August, a girl full of life, energy and laughter, love begins to awaken within him and he glimpses a way to escape his painful existence. But dare he reach for it?

YA Shot & UKYABA

This was my first time attending YA Shot so I wasn't really sure what to expect other than lots of hugs and a lot of emotions. It was an amazing day and I hope you enjoy this blog post/diary entry/photo book type thing.

Cue my ramblings!

The Smoke Thieves Review

Monday 2 April 2018

Rating: 5/5
Source: Proof curtesy of Penguin

A princess, a traitor, a hunter and a thief. Four teenagers with the fate of the world in their hands. Four nations destined for conflict.

In Brigant, Princess Catherine prepares for a loveless political marriage arranged by her brutal and ambitious father. In Calidor, downtrodden servant March seeks revenge on the prince who betrayed his people. In Pitoria, feckless Edyon steals cheap baubles for cheaper thrills as he drifts from town to town. And in the barren northern territories, thirteen-year-old Tash is running for her life as she plays bait for the gruff demon hunter Gravell.

As alliances shift and shatter, and old certainties are overturned, our four heroes find their past lives transformed and their futures inextricably linked by the unpredictable tides of magic and war. Who will rise and who will fall? And who will claim the ultimate prize?

Opinions on opinions in book blogging

Wednesday 7 March 2018

The other day I saw a lot of hate on Twitter for a book series that I really love and for a minute I actually considered not sharing my love because of the sheer number of people I knew I would be going against.

I thought, there must be a blog post in there somewhere, so I put out a Tweet asking for other peoples opinions and within five minutes I got a lot of responses.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Play Review

Monday 5 March 2018

January 2017, I finally got tickets to see Harry Potter and The Cursed Child. I'd already read the script half a dozen times but I was so excited that I'd finally get to see it as it was meant to be, live on the stage.. In a years time.

Fast forward to February 28th 2018, I could hardly contain how excited I was. I'm sure everyone in the UK can sympathise with how bad the weather was last week, I was so delayed getting my train that I ended up missing the first half hour of the play. The staff were great and got us in to watch on a screen in the bar so we wouldn't miss anymore, and we took our seats after intermission. This post will contain spoilers but I have deliberately not gone into detail about the plot/villain, only characters and scenes. I hope you enjoy!

Love, Simon Film Review

Friday 23 February 2018

Why is straight the default?

On Monday I got to see one of my most anticipated films of the year; Love, Simon. I wouldn't normally review a film on this blog but since it's an adaptation of one of my favourite books, I couldn't not. After reading Simon Vs The Homosapiens Agenda last year I have been absolutely obsessed with Becky Albertalli's work. Simon, Blue, Leah, Abby, Nick -they all feel like my friends at this point. When I found out there was going to be a film my heart could hardly take the joy.

So please read on if you want to get hyped with with me!

BLOG TOUR: The Devil's Poetry Review

Wednesday 21 February 2018

Questions are dangerous but answers can be deadly.

Callie’s world will be lost to war – unless she can unlock the magic of an ancient manuscript. She and her friends will be sent to the front line. Many of them won’t come back. When a secret order tells her she can bring peace by reading from a book, it seems an easy solution - too easy. Callie soon finds herself hunted, trapped between desperate allies and diabolical enemies. The Order is every bit as ruthless as the paranormal Cadaveri.

Callie can only trust two people – her best friend and her ex-marine bodyguard. And
they are on different sides. She must decide: how far will she go to stop a war?
Dare she read this book? What’s the price - and who pays it?

The Bachelorette - Boys of YA 2

Wednesday 14 February 2018

So as it's Valentines Day and I'm still a singleton, I thought I would write a post about the only men in my life - some more YA boys. I did a post like this a while ago on Zoe's blog (check that out here) and thought I'd do a part two here on my blog!

This time instead of giving you a dating sheet I have done the pros and cons of dating each suitor, I suppose this post will contain spoilers if you haven't read the books associated with the character, and you don't like spoilers, then maybe skip over them.

Enjoy!
