I got the idea to do this post from Kelly over at Kelly's Ramblings, so make sure you check out her post too! The idea is to pick 3 books at random from your ‘read’ shelf on Goodreads and decide which you will reread, which you will rewrite and which book will be burned! I’m going to do five rounds for this post.
The Rules:
- Randomly choose 3 books you’ve read. (Use the ‘random’ option on your Goodreads “read” shelf.)
- For each group of three books, decide which book you’d burn, rewrite, or reread.
- Repeat until you complete three rounds (or five)
Round 1
I Found You, After The Fire, Release
Reread: After The Fire by Will Hill - This is an absolute no brainer, After The Fire is a stunning book and rereading it is already on my radar and I only read it a couple of weeks ago. If you haven't read it yet, definitely pick it up!
Rewrite: Release by Patrick Ness - Another book that is really beautiful but there was a portion of the book that I didn't enjoy as much so I'd be happy having that rewritten.
Burn: I Found You by Lisa Jewell - I really do like this book but it's one of those murder mysteries that once you know 'who done it', you don't need to read it again. So unfortunately I'll be burning this one.
Round 2
Lie With Me, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Dear Amy
Reread: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J.K. Rowling - Obviously this was going to be the case. I kind of hoped none of the Harry Potter books would come up in the randomiser because they were always going to win. Potter for life.
Rewrite: Dear Amy by Helen Callaghan - Another great book but if a rewrite is what keeps it from being burned then so be it.
Burn: Lie With Me by Sabine Durant - A much easier choice for me this time as I didn't particularly like the book, I know it was quite popular but it just wasn't for me.
Round 3
Clockwork Prince, City of Fallen Angels, The Hunger Games
Reread: City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare - This is my favoruite book from The Mortal Instrument series and I'm absolutely Shadowhunters obsessed right now so this is definitely a reread for me.
Rewrite: The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins - I'm a sucker for The Hunger Games series but I'm not blind to the fact it isn't perfect, with a bit of rewriting and some more Haymitch backstory this would be even better.
Burn: Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare - I hate to do this but The Mortal Instruments is what I'm all about right now so that means this book has to be burned, I may change my mind as I'm still new in this world but for now I'm sorry!

Round 4
Divergent, Letters to the Lost, Blood Reckoning
Reread: Letters to the Lost by Brigid Kemmerer - This is a very recent read (review coming Friday) but I would happily give this one a reread because it was brilliant. It described a really beautiful and heartbreaking way to deal/help deal with grief.
Rewrite: Divergent by Veronica Roth - Much like my answer in the previous round, Divergent is one of those books that I love but it isn't perfect, I'd like to see this book rewritten a little.
Burn: Blood Reckoning by Danielle Ramsay - I'm so sorry Danielle! I love your books so much but this was a tough round.

Burn: Blood Reckoning by Danielle Ramsay - I'm so sorry Danielle! I love your books so much but this was a tough round.
Round 5
The Start of Me and You, A Clash Of Kings, The Amber Spyglass
Reread: The Amber Spyglass by Philip Pullman - Letters to the Lost by Brigid Kemmerer - This is a very recent read (review coming Friday) but I would happily give this one a reread because it was brilliant. It described a really beautiful and heartbreaking way to deal/help deal with grief.
Rewrite: The Start of Me and You by Emery Lord - Divergent by Veronica Roth - Much like my answer in the previous round, Divergent is one of those books that I love but it isn't perfect, I'd like to see this book rewritten a little.
Burn: A Clash of Kings by George R. R. Martin - I'm a big game of thrones fan and have read the first book a couple of times as well as the rest of the series once, but honestly they are such daunting reads and I prefer the TV show to the bulky books -don't hate me. I hope I don't get burned for this before I can read Wind of Winter.
And those are my answers! I hope you enjoyed this post, I had a lot of fun doing it. Don't forget to check out Kelly's post and if anyone else wants to do this leave your links to blog posts in the comments and I'll check yours out too.
Thanks for reading!
