I honestly didn't think that anything could top the May Illumicrate box but I was wrong! For anyone who doesn't know, Illumicrate is a quarterly subscription box that gives you books (usually ARCs and/or exclusive versions of books) and other bookish goodies for just £30 including postage. The August subscription is easily my favourite so far and I'm really excited to be sharing the amazing contents of this box with you. Spoilers ahead for anyone who hasn't received their box yet!
First is a pack of tea from T-Ology. It's called The Red Church and is an exclusive to Illumicrate this month, I actually don't infuse my tea ever but I've had an infuser for the longest time so I can't wait to give this go and upgrade from Tetleys.
The other item photographer before is probably my favourite item from the box. It's an Alethiometer drinks coaster from Hannah Hitchman Art, another exclusive which is a shame because I want three more. This item is stunning and so well done, I was super excited to get some Northern Lights merchandise as it's one of my favourite book series of all time.
The next couple of items comes from Blossom Books and they are a 'Book Money' jar, I just love this. It has a money box slot in the top of the jar lid so you can put the odd pound here and there towards your next book haul -something I'm sure we can all relate to not having enough money for. It's a really pretty item that looks great on my bookshelf already.
Next from Blossom Books is these sticky bookmarks. These have come at a great time for me because I was about to buy some on the recommendation of other book bloggers, to help me find quotes that I want to use in my reviews - I've already used them on two books so I'm really pleased with this item.
These are photographed with some Moxie badges, which I do already have but you can't have too many badges, I may be saving these for a giveaway coming soon!
The next item is also one that has come at a great time for me, the Shakespeare zip bag from Miss Phi is going to be perfect for taking my bookmarks/pens/highlighters etc on holiday so that I can keep reading and blogging on the beach. It features the quote "seek happy nights to happy days" and it just looks lovely.
The next item is a wisdom journal from Hey Atlas Creative which includes a quote from Rick Riordan's The Lightning Thief; "Even strength must bow to wisdom sometimes". The pages have a grid layout so it makes a perfect bullet journal for to do lists and jotting down notes.
The other items photographed below are promotional bits and pieces including a bookmark for Nyxia, one of the featured books and After the Fire which I review not long ago!
The two books are Wonder Woman Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo, which I'm really I'm really looking forward to because I've heard nothing but good things about it. The sprayed red edges are an exclusive to Illumicrate too, it's a little detail but I think it really makes a difference to the aesthetic of the book and I've already had fun photographing it. There's a cute little pin badge to go with it too. The other book is an ARC of Nyxia, a sci fi book which is always a win with me, I haven't heard much about it but it sounds amazing.
Wonder Woman blurb:
Diana is desperate to prove herself to her warrior sisters. But when the opportunity comes, she throws away her chance at glory and breaks and Amazon law to save a mere mortal, Alia Keralis. With this single heroic act, Diana may have just doomed the world.
Alia Is a Warbringer - a descendant of the infamous Helen of Troy, fated to bring about an age of bloodshed and misery. Diana and Alia will face an army of enemies, mortal and divine, determined to destroy or posses the Warbringer.
To save the world, they must stand side by side against the tide of war.
There isn't a blurb included on this copy of NYXIA but the reviews are claiming action packed Sci Fi adventure.
I'm very happy with this box and cannot wait for the next one!
Thanks for reading!
