The Bachelorette - Boys of YA 2

Wednesday 14 February 2018

So as it's Valentines Day and I'm still a singleton, I thought I would write a post about the only men in my life - some more YA boys. I did a post like this a while ago on Zoe's blog (check that out here) and thought I'd do a part two here on my blog!

This time instead of giving you a dating sheet I have done the pros and cons of dating each suitor, I suppose this post will contain spoilers if you haven't read the books associated with the character, and you don't like spoilers, then maybe skip over them.

Enjoy!

Lincoln - The Extinction Trials

Pros: A family man who will go to extreme lengths for those he loves.
Con: Will probably take his sisters side over yours.

"Her eyes moved along his slim forearms as he leaned on the table next to her. His triceps were deceptively muscular. Strong. He would be good at climbing too. Maybe this guy was in with a chance. She might actually have just met someone who would be a finalist."

Cardan - The Cruel Prince

Pros: He's a Prince and a  good dresser, plus he's a lot more passionate about his beliefs than you'd first imagine.
Cons: Grouchy and drinks too much.

“But kissing Locke never felt the way that kissing Cardan does, like taking a dare to run over knives, like an adrenaline strike of lightning, like the moment when you've swum too far out in the sea and there is no going back, only cold black water closing over your head.”

Liam - Everless

Cons: Will probably break up with you 'for your own good' at some point. Also a Prince.
Pros: He will always remember you and when you bump into him ten years later he's still cute and into you.

"When I put my hands over Liam's, he shivers at the touch but doesn't move. His skin is warm, the only warmth I've felt in days, and I savour it. "Close your eyes," I tell him. I close mine, too, and call on the power inside me, willing the current of time around us to stop."

Roan - Everless

Pros: Childhood sweetheart, makes a great first impression - basically Prince Charming and always knows what to say to make you smile.
Cons: He's making every girl in the kingdom smile.

"Roan threads his fingers through my hair, tilting my face back to meet his; and in response, as if of their own accord, my arms come up around his waist, and I pull him against my. The desire - not just for Roan himself, but to be wanted, to be loved the way I loved him when I was young..."

Ash - The Fandom

Pros: Feminist, supportive and generally a lovely human being.
Cons: Lives so far away and technically requires a coma to visit him.

"Ash is telling me he loves me. My Ash. Yet I feel empty... lost. In less than an hour, we won't know each other. We will be strangers divided by more than a few lies, more than a wall or a forest of brambles; we will be divided by an entire universe, a shift in time, complete memory loss. Our love story is to become tragedy..."

So... Which guy do you pick? I'm very torn between Liam and Ash if I'm honest. Ash is one of my favourite male characters ever, but Liam has an air of mystery still around him. The what ifs are still floating around him and Jules and I can't wait to see what happens to make us love him even more in book two of Everless.

Let me know any favourites that I haven't mentioned, or which of my list you would pick as your Valentine. This is just a bit of fun, I'm not actually planning on dating a book character... Promise.

Happy Valentines Day!
