My 24Hour Readathon

Friday, 2 June 2017

Hi everyone, I know I haven't done any personal posts on my blog as of yet, but this is a special occasion as I'm here to announce that myself and fellow blogger Zoe are doing a 24Hour Readathon to raise money for charity. If you want to take part all you have to do is get yourself some books and enjoy 24hours of reading, I understand not everyone will have the time to do so, but I will be posting updates on my progress here on my blog every other hour and filling the gaps with guest posts, so if anyone out there wants to write something for my blog then I encourage you to get in contact with me either via email (rebeccastobartcontact@gmail.com) or Twitter (@_rebeccastobart). I've already had a great response from bloggers and authors but I'm still looking for more.

I'm really excited to be doing this as the charity I have chosen to donate to is close to my heart and they rely on donations to keep running the way they do.

SomeOne Cares work with survivors of any form of abuse, though they specialise in childhood abuse, rape and sexual assault. It's something that far too many people have experienced and for those who feel like they have so few options, SomeOne Cares are there to help men, women and children work through some of their pain.

SomeOne Cares offers free counselling those who need it, because of this they require donations to keep the service free. I want to raise money to help ensure that as many people as possible receive the care and attention they need. You can help me reach my goal of £100 by donating here; http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/thisbookyplace
If you would like more information on SomeOne Cares you can visit their website here or their Twitter, and Facebook

Zoe is also raising money for a charity called STARS a charity who provide support and information on syncope and Reflex Anoxic Seizures for those who suffer and their families. You can donate to Zoe's just giving page here

We'll be tweeting, blogging and keeping everyone up to date on our progress over the 24 hours. To keep up with us keep an eye on the #Rebeccas24HourReadathon and #Zoes24HourReadathon. If you can't donate or write a guest post then even a retweet could help us raise money for two fantastic charities. I'll be keeping everyone updated on the fundraiser over on Twitter with more ways you can help and thanks to the generosity of authors and publishers I'll be running book giveaways as a thank you for your support.

Talk soon!
