Jacqueline had the idea of doing things a bit differently for this blog tour, instead of reviews and extracts there'll be a blog post every day answering different types of questions, this has been working great so far and as I'm only day four I hope the rest of the tour goes as well as the first few days.
For my post myself and Jacqueline have been working on who she would choose as her 'fictional faculty', basically which book characters she would choose to teach different subjects at school. When we were planning this I gave her the example of Peeta Mellark from The Hunger Games teaching food technology or Home Economics for the Americans out there. So lets see who she chose!
The Principal
I’m going to have to go with Albus Dumbledore. It’s an obvious choice but he is the BEST principal ever, and he has a phoenix, a pocket full of lemon sherbets, and a great sense of humor.
The Nurse
Sara Skonos from Red Queen! She is a skin healer and can pretty much heal any ailment, so this makes perfect sense. I might just turn her into my GP, since she is already there.
The Groundskeeper
HAGRID. Also an obvious choice but Hagrid is the king of grounds keeping and no one can replace him.
The Teachers
English
Rupert Giles! Rupert likes teaching, he’s very well read, and he’s British. That’s a triple win.
Maths
Sums from Wunderkids! He is, after all, a math wunderkind/math genius, so he’s a pretty obvious choice for this position. And if he’s feeling kind he might teach us a thing or two about hacking.
Chemistry
100% Miss Frizzle and her magic school bus! I’m not a fan of Chemistry but the magic school bus adventures will make it infinitely less boring.
Biology
Newt Scamander! He’s so kind, and funny, and he has (in his own words) observed nature and animals in over 100 countries. Also, he’s easy on the eyes. Poison Ivy guest lectures.
Psychology
Professor Xavier teaches psychology and he’s also the school counselor. The mind reading comes in handy; his soothing nature takes care of the rest.
History
Hermione Grainger and Annabeth Chase teach jointly!
Fashion
100% Effie Trinket! She learned a lot after she had to leave district 1. And now she knows all of the cool fashion DIY tips and tricks. She is also very well versed in the history of fashion. Jenny Humphrey helps out asT.A.
Philosophy
Yoda! I could listen to Yoda dish out existential wisdom all day long.
Geography
Taught by Alina Starkov (Shadow and Bone) Alina was a cartographer’s assistant, a great choice for a geographyteacher if you ask me. Plus, maybe the Darkling will stalk our lessons, which is a big bonus.
Home Ec
Peeta Mellark (Hunger Games) and Jesper Fahey (Six of Crows) and Wylan Van Eck (Six of Crows) teach this jointly. Why? Because Home Ec is a lot more fun when you learn to bake bread, shoot guns and assemble bombs, all in one.
P.E and Self Defense
Buffy Summers! I feel like the P.E class at this academy is a really big deal- like, kind of the school’s strong suit.Every now and then Rowan and Aelin (Throne of Glass)guest lecture on self-defense and combat technique. And Katniss Everdeen did a whole special seminar on archery.
So many good choices here, if you’d like to do this on your blog then please feel free to do so and let me know in the comments or over on Twitter as I’d love to read them! I’ll definitely have to create my own faculty one day.
